» LK Heroic Down: Extended Version, At long last Options

When my old guild (that is to say the guild i had been GM of, not the guild i ever intended to lead of have any role of importance in) got cockblocked on M'uru, that encounter that was supposedly the hardest thing implemented in game, i never expected to see end game raiding again. I told my guild that that was it and we'd never be raiding again. Oh, how wrong i was.

When the expansion came out myself and a handful of my in-game friends, some of which we had been raiding with Sunwell formed "Immature Pricks," an aptly named guild that was promptly reported and got changed to "WHATEVER WERE AWESOME."

We leveled up quickly and promptly claimed the easy server firsts, with whatever we had at 80 plus a few friends and a few random 80s: Naxx, and Sarth. We wouldn't see a realm first for over a year after that point.

From that day that we got realm first Naxx and Sarth, only people are still raiding with us: Myself, Raw, killmour and toprem (albeit on another character).



Up until ICC all Realm Firsts are almost unquestionably the possession of Genesis, without contest.

Towards the end of TotGC (shamefully late killshot included below) we started to make progress, acquiring a handful of stronger players, and losing some dead weight.



From the onset of ICC, we were progressing at relatively the same rate as the other three progression guilds on the server: Genesis, Superiority Complex, and Simplicity.

As we burned on LK, we had a highly frustrating 12% wipe on the last night of the reset on which genesis killed it, giving us a 1 week disadvantage on hardmodes. We came back in and killed the LK promptly the next tuesday, leaving us a week to think twice about bringing shitty apps to progression content.



Despite this we ended up getting 9/12 within 2 weeks, the majority before the 5% buff. 5% buff promptly saw our putricide kill, followed closely by US 9th Icebound Frostwyrms. It also saw our primary competitor, Genesis, dissolve.

At this point we secured our first place on server, at least until LK heroic died. The months that followed contained hundreds of LK heroic wipes, and hours of me yelling at the raid, yelling at people about how i hated the raid, and contemplating just giving up. It also saw SC crumble, presumably due to the departure of their GM and their backbone, Rasp. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Rasp, Carisana and the other GMs we have competed against, and i thank them all for providing sound strong competition.

Our progress through the LK encounter was long and painful, spanning five months. We cycled through countless people, and in fact strengthened ourselves significantly from our first pull. It's worth noting and thanking some of the people who invested countless hours of their lives wiping and learning with us, but could not be there for the final kill, including Splinx, Shockalocka, Cowmu, Danimals, Botty and Lyricals.

In all my time as GM, i have always said that our guild contained some of the strongest players on Magtheridon, and perhaps the best core, but where we suffered was the periphery, the ever changing group of people we cycle through as we solidify the core. I honestly and truly believe that with some of our recent acquisitions our core is one of the strongest mag has ever seen, and it gives me great pleasure to be the leader of such a collection of players.

WWA would not, however, have gotten here without the hard work of a few key players who really helped to make the guild what it is today. Players like Nibron, Tropix, Cowmu, Okole, Arthaxx, Okimaz, Zelion and the countless others i have no doubt forgotten, who no longer raid with us but helped to push us to where we are today.

I have had more fun playing WoW leading this guild than i ever have, in 6 years of playing. Perhaps the most rewarding part of this kill is that we got the kill with people we enjoy playing with. For the first time as a guild master, i feel as if all 25 people in my raid are "friends," i don't feel as if i'm at odds with anyone. There is nothing as rewarding in WoW as killing stuff with people you enjoy spending time with. Through months of dealing with people i didn't want to, shifting through idiots i hated, and dealing with stupid incessant drama, i contemplated quitting WoW, or stepping down as GM many a time. I am so glad i never did. There is something to be said about the persistence and dedication it took to down what is the hardest fight ever put in WoW. The kill was perhaps a bit late, but i am absolutely proud we got it, and proud to be number 1 on magtheridon, where we belong.

Shaman Power my friends, Shaman Power. Was an absolute pleasure to raid with all of you. I've been in this guild going on 3 months now I believe, came here right before the 15% buff and the 30% is next week.

I realize I pretty much sucked dick in the beginning (and still do at some things, dispel button still runs away every so often). But I do feel I have become a better player thanks to raiding with everyone here. Even though it was highly disappointing on my end to not be in there tonight, I am overjoyed that the guild got it. You guys most definitely deserved it. Hopefully I'll have my gear back by next week and we can slay again.

I shall add WWA Power to the list of phrases to be used in circulation from now along with Shaman Power.

I move a toon to horde side and have been following your board for a week or two now. I've probably learned as much about improving my class(es) simply from reading your declined applicants folder than I do from spending hours on EJ... Not to mention the hours of laughs that it has provided!

We ended up US 68th because of our comparatively early PP kills, even though LK was US 71st. so we technically moved up. But yeah, next expansion we can probably get something higher than that.
