- First Name: Michael
- Your Country / Time zone: USA - EST - Age: 25 - Do you have Ventrilo and working microphone? Yes, mic is clear. - Are you able to handle mature (or immature) content on Ventrilo and in guild chat? Yes. - Do you have the capacity to clearly communicate, yet have a knowledge of when it's appropriate to keep comments to yourself? - Yes. - Are you presently employed or a student. Will it interfere with your ability to raid? Will you be able to attend 99% of our raids? Do you have any other Real Life obligations which might prevent you from attending 99% of our raids? - Currently in the US Army, usually does not interfere with raiding schedules. If it will I will know at least one week in advance to cover any conflicts. - Do you have any PC or disconnect issues we should know about? Connection and PC are both steady. - Are you able to handle harsh criticism? You can, and will, be subjected to harsh criticism and you will be called out when you do not perform. - Yes, I handle this very well. - Class / Character Name: Praz - Race: Blood Elf - Professions: Blacksmith / Inscription - Do your professions increase your performance in raids? Explain your choices - Inscription for shoulder enchants, and blacksmith for extra sockets. - Total time played (/played) and Time played at 85 On this account - 37 days total, 34 at current level. -Is this your first main character? If not what did you used to play? When did you start playing WoW? Please provide detailed information about time spent on all your previous characters. Tell us as much as you can, the more the better. -I started playing wow in vanilla right around MC progression playing a Hunter. I stayed with my hunter through all Vanilla content until BC content came out and then switched to a Paladin for SSC progression. I played my first paladin through all BC and WOTLK content until mid way through heroic ICC progression where my account was hijacked while I was deployed and I was unable to recover it. I started this account towards the start of summer and have been playing CATA content since. -Main Spec: (x/x/x) (include a link from http://www.wowhead.com if it differs from the spec you presently have on armory). If you have a relevant offspec for raiding, tell us about that as well. Pretty much the cookie cutter ret spec although slightly different. I use 7/3/31 with 1 point in Divinity and 2/2 Eye for an Eye. -Armory Link: [Armory] (Be sure to log out with your raiding gear on) -What is your current guild? Iron Knights -What were the last 3 guilds you were in? What are the reasons for leaving your last and current guild? Tell us about your time in each and how active you were in each. -Iron Knights - Mug`thol, raider - guild has moved from 25 to two 10man groups and has slowed in progression. -Focus Fire - Garona, healing lead - This was the guild I was apart of when I was hijacked. By the time I had returned to the game 70% of the raiders had left and the guild was a skeleton of the powerhouse it was. -The Departed - Kul`Tiras, raider. - I was with this guild from early BC content through Sunwell. I left the guild during sunwell farming to take a break from the game. Followed IRL friends to Focus Fire. - What end game raiding experience do you have? (This includes in vanilla WoW, TBC and WOTLK as well as Cata. be specific.) Be thorough. The more detail the better. Vanilla- All content, full AQ40 and Naxx prenerf kills. top 10 c`thun kill (Pro Baddies Mal`ganis) BC- Gruul + SSC + TK pre patch, All content cleared, Sunwell prenerf (Muru) WOTLK- All regular and HM content through professor P heroic. TOC and a tribute to insanity. CATA -All normal content cleared, 1/8 HM DS 4/7HMFL - Link to WWS / WMO logs of recent raid(s) you have attended. The logs of my current guild are set to private, I have taken Screen shots of some average parses and linked them below. If you require a more detailed look please message me and I will provide you with my login information to go over the logs. DPS 1 DPS 2 DPS 3 - Provide a Quick Summary of your "Valuable" Stats (Healing, Attack Power, etc.) as you understand them for your class. RET stat priority is as follows: Str > Mas > hit > exp > Crit > haste. - Which major and prime glyphs do you currently use? Explain your choices Seal of truth, expertise glyph. This is a obvious choice as achieving 26 expertise without it would be too much of a dps loss. Prime- Templar's Verdict, DPS glyph. As Templar's verdict is one of if not the highest DPS producing attack that we use this glyph is also a necessity. Exorcism, DPS glyph. The follow exor dot is a higher dps than say the crit for crusader strike and it is consistent and has the ability to crit. Major- Divine Protection, survival glyph - Divine protection as itself with the physical reduction is pretty usually as melee don't take direct physical damage in most of the raids. Holy Wrath, raid utility glyph - Stuns on elemental and dragonkin Ascetic Crusader, mana management glyph - helps mana management. - Do you have dual-spec, and is your off spec something you could viably play in raids? Right now my off spec is for holy pvp but I have raided all previous expansion packs as holy. I have a decent gear-set for holy and feel more than confident playing it. - What spec do you prefer? Are you willing to respec if an emergency arises? Are you willing to respec to the optimal spec for a progression boss? I like playing both RET and Holy in raids I feel my skillset is equal in both. I am very willing to respec for progression. - How do you feel about sitting out for any given encounter if we do not need you? It will happen. - Sitting is not a problem. - Are you willing to spend 400+ gold a night in repairs and consumables, stay focused and wipe for 4 hours straight, come back the next day and do it all over again until a new boss dies (even on "farm" content)? That has been most of my world of Warcraft raiding experience. No problem sitting through learning fights and working on progression. - What is your reason for applying? What makes us more appealing that any one of the thousands of other raiding guilds out there? I have read blurbs and looked at parses from your guild and feel that I would be a good fit into the environment. - Who, if anyone, will vouch for your abilities in WWA? I currently do not know anyone. - Post a screenshot of your UI.(If you are having trouble, use the free image hosting resources of http://imageshack.us) UI SS ![]() - Last words: Show us what sets you apart from the rest of the candidates; what makes you better? What can you bring to WWA? What do you want us to know that wasn’t covered? Let us know why WE want YOU. This is your last chance to impress us, be thorough. Do not answer this question with one sentence. Once again, the more complete the answer, the better. Since I started playing this game I was dropped into a serious raiding environment and a progression mindset. I have stayed within that way of thinking since. Though I have dropped in ranking of guilds and have moved around a bit my skillset has only improved with the time I have played this game. I constantly work on min/maxing either my gear of my rotation and I believe my DPS reflects this. I never stand in the fire, always reliable when it is my turn to activate a cool down or move out of a ability. I am ranked on almost every fight in DS and continue to improve each week while raiding. I am looking for a guild to expand with and see all heroic DS content with. |

Since you seem to have left it out, here is the armory link:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/mugthol/Praz/advanced You have very little Hard Mode raiding experience, your gear is behind, and we have three ret paladins already. edit: Apparently if you click on the word armory it brings you to his armory page. WTB a way of seeing links like that easily! -------------------- ![]() |

I'll look at logs when I get home but some questions, first you have solid past experience which is a good thing your gear is only slightly behind but current experience is lacking. Have you put any effort into learning the fights our guild can currently do that yours hasn't even gotten to, I'm not looking for a yes or no mind you I want you to explain what you've learned you should do on said fights.
Like hozz said, we have three ret paladins, do you feel confident enough to take a spot from them? You would sit the bench for some things currently no doubt, is that actually going to be okay with you until you've proven you belong in the raid? Even if that proof doesn't happen for what little of DS we have left. If you are just hear to tell us what we want to hear and actually feel another way then aave yourself some time, if you actually think you have what it takes and are willing to prove it then so be it. Also, I assume you are in the military or were, what are the chances of you missing a huge chunk or time due to relocation issues. Why should we invest in you? -------------------- ![]() |

I have only studied the heroic modes we have worked on / plan on working on at the moment. If given a trial I would fully brief myself for the fights before any attempts are made on my part. I very rarely if at all go into fights without knowing what is going on. I also am fully confident in my raiding and DPS abilities. Competition breeds better raiders in my opinion and it pushes people to play better. I welcome the challenge and believe that my abilities would speak for them self given the chance. I am currently Active duty Army Infantry at Fort Drum, NY. I am not scheduled for another deployment until 2013 and field training time will be limited for the upcoming months. Any expected time missed would have advance notice and would not be for a extended amount of time. Anything else you would like to know just ask. |

You weren't in Pro Baddies until level 70 and, even then, you were only there for about three months.

Pretty sure I joined before patch, might of been after, honestly can't remember. Yes, I was only there for 3-4 months but was part of karalol, gruuls, Mag, world bosses, and SSC first kills.

Yeah, gonna need to be able to see more into your logs to see anything of value with those.
Also, since you put what you did for your stat priority, would you go under both hit/expertise if it meant gaining more strength or mastery? Not a bad thing to do, just point it out and am curious, why have you used some epic gems in gear already but used blues for the rest... even in gear that you have at least one epic gem in. You've said you have looked at our parses, meaning you know what killmour, myself, and when he is in Monath can do as far as damage. Going from 10 normals to 25 heroics is a very big difference in both what is asked from you and the damage shift you have to perform, such as not getting to sit on a boss 100% of the time. You haven't looked into heroic fights beyond what you do, and I can only assume that when you have in the past looked up fights they were 10 man and not 25; so what I want to know is how do you expect to over come those barriers if we accept you on Monday, and you have six new heroic encounters thrown at you a day later. That's asking a lot of yourself in one days time, my advice to you whether you get accepted or not, get familiar with every fight in the instance now. There are tons of videos and strat threads already out there that so most of the work is already laid out. It will do nothing but help you to do so no matter when you end up. -------------------- ![]() |

Also, since you put what you did for your stat priority, would you go under both hit/expertise if it meant gaining more strength or mastery? Contact me on real-id for the log in information to WOL. mike.wilsonn@ymail.com Going under slightly is sometimes acceptable to gain more of a primary stat, but the depth that you drop at least in my opinion could not be more than a few hundredths. I could very well be wrong in this as I haven't extensively tested below hit or expertise cap this expansion. Not a bad thing to do, just point it out and am curious, why have you used some epic gems in gear already but used blues for the rest... even in gear that you have at least one epic gem in. The belt I was hoping for the hagara replacement, but I needed the extra 5 hit for 8% exactly and happen to of had a spindle in my bank. The tier gear was obviously gemmed as they would not be replaced as quickly with my old guild. Other 397 and raid finder pieces have replacements with the first 4 bosses and was waiting until heroic / regular tier replacements to gem epic. The cloak and relic I still need to get one for but with horrible clusters drops the gold I was hoping to delay in spending might be used. Learning fights for me comes easy, I am not saying the fights are, just the way my mind processes encounters. That has always been a strong point with me and raiding is the ability to perform and avoid necessary tasks and mechanics. Since posting I have been watching kill videos and basic strat / ability mechanic layouts and have a general idea of what to do on most fights. Obviously first hand experience is the best way to learn a fight but I don't believe I would not know what tentacles to kill on Warlord or get caught in a slow and not be in the right place on Hagara. Also just an update as far as my armory goes. New link is Click me Hozz Xfer'd to play and help a friends guild progress on heroic Hagara and Warmaster. |

His damage is alright, though it seems you died to hour this past week which worries me. You didn't have that issue the week before so I can chalk that up to everyone making a mistake now and again. Died twice on your madness wipe because you either pulled aggro or just started tanking the corruption, looks like you were rez'd and died to bolt damage. Something happened with one of your Morchok attempts where you died twice to stomp.
True is, if you come here.. you would be a work in progress. I'm not sure if Monath is still quitting or what that deal is, but as it stands now you and him are on pretty even gear levels and in turn, dps levels. Conq tier likes to not drop here, and those kind enough to have already passed it to others would surely be getting it before you did. You would see a lot of bench time, unless Killmour or myself felt the need to sit, and even then you might not see progression content for awhile. My word isn't at all the one that gets you in or not, I'm simply a person in your class that plays your spec, but from what I see you can play the class. However survivability is the real name of the game and logs can only tell us so much about that. The mistakes that I did find are hard to look over since it's normal mode... and 10 man, but then again I don't know what was happening during those deaths, I just know it doesn't look good that you were the first to die on most of the ones I listed. -------------------- ![]() |

Deaths on Morchock were because of range of groups, I was the stomp soaker. The death to ultrax was testing staying in for twlight with 40% divine protection, worked 3/4 times last attempt didnt make it (Raid leader instructions). Deathwing were because our lovely tank decided to bubble herself and I ended up having second highest threat. Looks as if you guys are kinda up in the air but leaning towards not taking me, I understand this and would like to thank you for taking the time to look over some stuff and talk with me. Always can use improvement suggestions from higher ranked RET's / players than myself. |

Clearly's responses are pretty much spot on. The big thing is that we have lots of people and if you do come over it might be a bit of sitting time. We always need more people and it's hard to tell about anything really unless we saw you. It's your money on a transfer though, and not ours.
The reason we bring all that up is so that we can know if you are able to handle that before giving a more serious-mode response. -------------------- ![]() |

Just simply going with what I can see, logs can't and don't show everything. Killmour has more say than myself I just had the time to look over all of it and give my feedback. Whichever way they do decide to go I hope you don't consider what I've told you as anything but constructive criticism... if it came off another way that was not my intention. Good luck with your app. -------------------- ![]() |

Like I've said in other threads: you look sorta okay, and we have lots of people. If you want to come over and get a shot you certainly can. However, if you don't listen or you fuck around or die to stupid shit, you wasted your money. It's going to be really hard for you to compete on the dps front with your gear. So you really only have one recourse and that is to play perfectly.
If you don't know all the fights and how they are generally done that is not good. Asking questions about guild specific things is fine but not having a clue about things is not fine. It's really up to you. Let me know what you think. -------------------- ![]() |

Basically you are coming into a guild that already has two ret paladins that were there for all our DS progression. You can't compete in gear, won't compete in damage, and though sometimes either of us might fuck up, it's few and far between.
I'm not sure Killmour's plans for MoP, but I'm sticking with what I am now, and unless something changes I assume he is as well. It's your shot to mess up, but let's just say the odds are already stacked against you. We did however use three, even four, ret paladins for some fights and very well could run with three ret paladins barring our damage isn't complete shit in future tiers. A lot of that is not at all solid though so don't run with that idea in mind. -------------------- ![]() |
