First Name: Paul
Your Country / Time Zone: USA / NJ-EST Age: Seventeen. (17) Do you have Ventrilo and working microphone?: Yes. My microphone has a +20db boost so you can hear me nice and clear. Are you able to handle mature (or immature) content on Ventrilo and in guild chat?: I understand WoW is an online game where folks tend to act differently than they would in reality so any immature comments are too common to worry about. It's the mature folk who seem like minorities. SO, yes. Do you have the capacity to clearly communicate, yet have a knowledge of when it's appropriate to keep comments to yourself?: Yes. I will usually not speak unless spoken to. However, if I notice something in a raid that should be getting done but isn't, I'll point it out on ventrilo very quickly(as to not clog vent). Are you presently employed or a student. Will it interfere with your ability to raid? Will you be able to attend 99% of our raids? Do you have any other Real Life obligations which might prevent you from attending 99% of our raids?: I have a part time job in the summer but my boss is great and allows me to choose when I want to work/what hours I want to work. At the end of August, I will be travelling nine hours to Maine to move into my dorm. Other than that handful of days of moving in, none of my college classes interfere with WWA's raid schedule so I should be ready to go once I move in. Do you have any PC or disconnect issues we should know about? None in dungeons/raids. The only time I ever DC would be in arenas. But that's not relevant. Are you able to handle harsh criticism? You can, and will, be subjected to harsh criticism and you will be called out when you do not perform. I'm used to harsh criticism. I do not know what it was about Arcane but I couldn't do any damage and my current guild's officers hammered me about it. I had to sit out many raids because of that spec. Instead, I went fire. It was something new and I gave it a test run. I researched as much as I can and know I've done way better since. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Class / Character Name: Mage/ Tweester Race: Gnome(for increased int), will faction change to undead/forsaken if accepted. Professions: Enchanting 450 / ENGINEERING 450. Power leveled post-app Do your professions increase your performance in raids? Explain your choices: Yes. Enchanting obviously gives me the profession-unique ring enchants. Also, is very convenient to have whenever I get new gear. First thing to do is enchant. I have the extra haste enchant. I will also have nitro boots to make me run like the wind. Total time played (/played) and Time played at 80: 101 days, 40 days. This mage used to be a friend's account. I did not play it until he left WoW and left it at 70. ( In sept 2009). Is this your first main character? If not what did you used to play? When did you start playing WoW? Please provide detailed information about time spent on all your previous characters. Tell us as much as you can, the more the better: Yes, this mage is essentially my first main character. I originally started playing in BC and got a warrior up to level 40 on magtheridon before I stopped playing. I briefly came back and made another warrior 2 years ago on mal'ganis but again stopped playing. In september 2009, I was leveling a rogue and got it up to 63 before a friend said he was quitting WoW, so I took over his mage. Main Spec: Fire 18/53/0 Armory Link What is your current guild?: Skrilla. What were the last 3 guilds you were in? What are the reasons for leaving your last and current guild? Tell us about your time in each and how active you were in each: Skrilla, Axis, and FREE PVPOWNAGE. Skrilla's been my longest tenure. They were the only guild who took me in as a tiny mage. It's been a fun ride. I love our officers but they have decided to not raid 25m content anymore. Even in CATA, I believe they will be running 10m. I've wanted to progress more in 25m. Axis was a small run of 10m/10m heroics I did. ( I switched to fire in Axis) I got my KS with them in 10m and ran 8/12 icc10 heroics at like 15% buff. Then I went back to Skrilla. FREE PVPOWNAGE was just a fun guild of friends who liked to PVP. When we heard the rumor that pvpownage was arrested for CP, we had to make a guild for it and we just had fun. No raiding in here. What end game raiding experience do you have? (This includes in vanilla WoW, TBC and WOTLK. be specific.) Be thorough. The more detail the better: I did not start raiding until Icecrown Citadel. It's upsetting but I've never had a motivation to get to max level alone until ICC. I am 8/12 ICC heroic 10. Technically I'm 3/12 ICC 25m heroic. However, I do not have 25m KS achiev but I do have 11/12 ICC25. I've downed marrowgar/lootship/rotface in 25m. Skrilla stopped raiding 25m shortly after 3/12 heroic ICC. EDIT: I have also got halion 10m downed twice. Any special Achievements / Titles / Mounts you have earned in PvE you would like us to know about? I've got my TOGC10 insanity achievement and my 10m KS achievement. I only started raiding in ICC and have only been able to PUG naxx/ulduar/to(g)c. Link to WWS / WMO logs of recent raid(s) you have attended. These are not my best logs whatsoever. These are actually not even the most recent ones that I attended. I did not join in until we reached the second wing. The reason being the power in my city was out until 1030PM and I didnt have any power (or air conditioning in 103 degree weather). So when the fill-in pug left, I was asked to come in. http://worldoflogs.com/reports/3d2kwkbcnef7nz2q/details/179/ FURTHERMORE, RNG wrecked me on fester. I'm pretty sure my gnome threw up his guts way too many times. There's no reason in Skrilla's 25m group that I shouldn't be top damage. It really was a bad week of raiding for me. To get away from ooze of PP, I blinked RIGHT into malleable goo. That was cool. My most recent raids were better but guild has not posted up the logs. Provide a Quick Summary of your "Valuable" Stats (Healing, Attack Power, etc.) as you understand them for your class: HIT>CRIT>HASTE>SP I KNOW I'm going to get bashed for this but I'm going for it anyway. I value hit a tad bit less than others. Even though with misery/draenei, I become over-hit, I'm not really all that concerned. For example, I feel that if my hit without a debuff on a boss is at 14.69%, I shouldn't be too concerned that 2% of my spells wont hit. (Unless we're fighting an enrage and a living bomb can save the day and then misses.) However, other than hit, crit is my important stat. The crit of fireball/ especially living bomb will increase the chances of hot streak popping up. The last tick of living bomb being a crit, I feel will almost always proc hot streak. I like gemming haste for the simple fact fireball will not take so long. haha. SP is in ALL of the gear I get so it's not on my priority to start gemming red sockets of runed cardinals. Easily said, more SP = more base damage = more overall damage with crits. Which major glyphs do you currently use? Explain your choices: Molten Armor/ Fireball/ Living Bomb. Molten Armor glyph is great considering the blue gems required in a handful of pieces. The spirit from the gem turns into crit and we're all happy mages with crit. Fireball glyph is the glyph of champions. It speeds up fireball but I question it. If there was another glyph to replace this one, I would do it ONLY IF I HAD PHYLACTERY. I had a short convo with a fire mage on alliance who had heroic phylactery to see if taking off the fireball glyph would help it proc more. He just said it procs enough that it's not necessary + there's not an extra glyph to replace it so I took his word. (i dont have phylactery so I don't know) Living bomb crits seem to proc hot streak and overall do more damage. When living bomb crits, HELLO IGNITE! Do you have dualspec, and is your offspec something you could viably play in raids?: Yes, my dualspec is frost for PVP. It's not viable in raids(yet?) but if needed, I can switch to arcane as my second spec(if you need an actual slow other than rank1 frostbolt) if needed. What spec do you prefer? Are you willing to respec if an emergency arises? Are you willing to respec to the optimal spec for a progression boss?: Yes. I prefer FIRE over frost and arcane. Again, if needed, I will respec. How do you feel about sitting out for any given encounter if we do not need you? That's fine. You guys are the bosses, you're calling the shots. HOWEVER, there's no mage as fine as Tweester. (haha?) Are you willing to spend 400+ gold a night in repairs and consumables, stay focused and wipe for 4 hours straight, come back the next day and do it all over again until a new boss dies (even on "farm" content)?: Yes. I always have more than enough gold for repairs, no matter how many wipes. I'm always prepared with flasks(i even have plenty extra to give around) and my own food if no feasts are available. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What is your reason for applying? What makes us more appealing that any one of the thousands of other raiding guilds out there?: Great track record. (duh) Furthermore, of the many guilds out there, WWA seems more prepared to take on cataclysm than others. Just reading the website and still actively recruiting for cataclysm is a plus. Some guilds just lie dead until the new expansion. You pretty much have downed all that there is in WOTLK and that gives me a greater opportunity to flourish(wordchoice?) in an already stable raiding environment. also, WWA is only a faction change away instead of a server transfer. Who, if anyone, will vouch for your abilities in WWA?: As far as I know, the only person I have raided with is UPHAdin( on his paladin) and those are usually simple pugs in TOC or the like. Doubt he'll remember me but that's the only one I remember raiding with. UI: It's a really simple blizz UI, really. But it looks like you guys are a little more interested in keybindings and I promise I'm not a crappy keybinder! Look! Tweester UI Last word: I am a consistent raider. I will be here when needed unless there are some circumstances. ( like no power because it's 103°F in NJ, emergency, etc) But one thing is sure, everyone will know if I am going to be late, I will post in GCHAT or the forums or even text/call someone to let the officers know that I'm late. Since my switch to fire and the realization that I should always be near the top in damage, I get really upset with myself, even if the boss is downed. I do not like wiping but understand it will happen...a lot and I prepare myself for it. After a wipe, I will run back and buff myself up usually first out of everyone else so we can continue raiding fast. I do not wait for rezzes, I will run back each time(in a wipe/trash). I'm a strong raider who is always prepared. I have extra consumables for other casters/healers if needed, etc. I'm encouraging and optimistic( you can ask my current guild leader if needed) that I'm usually excited to start raiding and down some bosses. He'll probably have all good things to say about me. (: If I'm having a bad day, nobody will notice. I do not put blame on anybody but myself if we fail. There's always that little bit more I could've done to save this guy or help out healers by iceblocking with a mark in saurfang. And my last point, I am a friendly guy who appreciates good leadership. Thank you. I hope I didn't bore you with my application. I didn't want to half-ass it like a good number of people in the "Rejected" subforum. I really appreciate those who read through my application and am ready to take an criticism/questions/etc needed. Help me improve, one way or another. Thank you. |

You are currently undergeared and underexperienced for what we're doing. i'm not sure we could give you a consistent raid spot even if you did have comparable gear and experience.
It was a well done app, however, and you seem to have a decent idea of what's going on -------------------- Sarkasmos Sarkosis Sark Sarkysark Sarkasmoslol Sarx Sarkoma SarkasmosTwo Sarkonious

Thanks. And remember that if I'm needed for anything(like alt runs, etc), just throw me a whisper. |
