- First Name: Matt
- Your Country / Time zone: US-PST
- Age: 21
- Do you have Ventrilo and working microphone? yes
- Are you able to handle mature (or immature) content on Ventrilo and in guild chat? yes
- Do you have the capacity to clearly communicate, yet have a knowledge of when it's appropriate to keep comments to yourself? yes
- Are you presently employed or a student. Will it interfere with your ability to raid? Will you be able to attend 99% of our raids? Do you have any other Real Life obligations which might prevent you from attending 99% of our raids? Will you, in the near future, have any obligations that will make you unable to raid?
I am a college student, but I can arrange my classes and manage my time accordingly to be able to make 99% if not 100% of raids.
- Do you have any PC or disconnect issues we should know about?
I rarely dc and have no issues with my pc
- Are you able to handle harsh criticism? You can, and will, be subjected to harsh criticism and you will be called out when you do not perform.
I am a very level headed guy, I can take any kind of criticism, whether I think it is justified or not, and I will not get angry or pick pointless fights. I am always trying to improve my game and expect to be called out if I make a mistake.
- Class / Character Name: Warlock - Báel
- Race: Orc
- Professions: JC/Tailoring
- Do your professions increase your performance in raids? Explain your choices
I chose tailoring because of its proc based int giving more than an 80 int upgrade, and the fact that I am a warlock makes proc based int more valuable (sometimes) for creating awesome dots.
I chose JC because at the time it gave 81 int and I liked the idea that I could gain 81 of whatever stat I wanted. I did not switch JC this tier because by the time it was announced that jc gems would not be receiving an upgrade progression was essentially over.

- Total time played (/played) and Time played at 85
119 days played, 73 days @ 85
-Is this your first main character? If not what did you used to play? When did you start playing WoW? Please provide detailed information about time spent on all your previous characters. Tell us as much as you can, the more the better.
I started playing WoW in the Fall of 2009. My first 80's were a mage and a paladin, neither of which I raided consistently on. I would do pugs/pvp on the mage and pvp on the ret pally. These days the paladin is still just pvp and I do alt run and such with my mage. I also have a warrior (not till Cata) but again just pvp lol. I made my warlock in 2010 and began raiding at about the 15% buff for ICC. I kind of jumped into raiding on the Lock from nothing because all I did was pvp (bg hero), but my friends guild needed people so I joined in.

-Main Spec: (x/x/x) (include a link from http://www.wowhead.com if it differs from the spec you presently have on armory). If you have a relevant offspec for raiding, tell us about that as well.
I raid as any of the warlock specs, if I had to choose I would say Destro is my weakest because I don't play it often.
if Demo: 3/31/7 or 0/31/10
if Afflic: 32/3/6
If Destro: 3/7/31

-Armory Link: [http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/arthas/B%C3%A1el/advanced] (Be sure to log out with your raiding gear on)
-What is your current guild?
Influence @ Arthas
-What were the last 3 guilds you were in? What are the reasons for leaving your last and current guild? Tell us about your time in each and how active you were in each.
When I started raiding in 2010 I joined a guild called Backlash on Aegwynn. I joined in the last 6 months the guild existed. In BC it was apparently good on some level but had fallen to not killing normal 25 LK till the 20% ICC buff. In an attempt to start again about 15 players (including myself) server xferred to the much more populated Arthas and renamed the guild Forlorn.
Forlorn started off with quite a lot of people to carry, but after a couple months when 85% of the raid was new raiders we ended up going 9/13 T11 and then 6/7 H T12 Pre-nerf to all the bosses. The guild died during Heroic Rag when the officers started getting fed up with the amount of fail in the group and a couple people just stopped raiding, which turned into the GM ninja xferring, which was the final straw for me. I was one of the people who you could always count on to be at raid; the rare days I did miss I would always post well in advance, and I was also one of the people carrying the dead weight in the guild. The thought of leaving had crossed my mind many times before, but I was too soft to just say fuck you to everyone. This dramatic breakup of the officers/gm was kind of a blessing in disguise for me. I left the guild a few days later and joined Influence.
Influence was the perfect fit for me because at the time I had a lot of obligations and raiding more than 9 hours a week wasn't something I wanted to do. These days I have much less obligations and can arrange my school schedule to not interfere with raids. Influence does quite well for only raiding 9 hours a week, many times less than that, and I have no problem with anyone in the guild or how it is run. I just want to raid at a higher level than before and I now have the time to do so.

- What end game raiding experience do you have? (This includes in vanilla WoW, TBC and WOTLK as well as Cata. be specific.) Be thorough. The more detail the better.
ICC : 11/12 H
Cata : T11 - 9/13 H
T12 7/7 H
T13 8/8 H
- Any special Achievements / Titles / Mounts you have earned in PvE you would like us to know about?
Firelord, Savior of Azeroth
- Link to WWS / WMO logs of recent raid(s) you have attended.
wow-heroes.com for a quick look at any ranks

- Provide a Quick Summary of your "Valuable" Stats (Healing, Attack Power, etc.) as you understand them for your class.
Int is better than anything
Demo: For a single target fight full Mastery comes out on top of reforging for 1993 haste, but by a very small amount of dps. For any multi target fight where a lot of immolates are going to be cast or if rng loves you and those extra casts of incin/sbolt get you some impending doom procs, having a decent amount of haste is of great value. I stick to reforging to above 1993 haste and throwing the rest into mastery.
Afflic: haste haste haste haste. mastery sucks
Destro: If you go around reading the right forums you will find people saying to get to 2773 (around there) haste for an extra tic of immolate during blust. In my sims of my own character however, I have found that I want to be a little above 2800 haste with the second stat of my choice. Do I want more consistent damage from reforging to mastery or do I want to take that chance on crit. I usually go with a nice mix of both because any sims favoring one or the other differ by less than 100 dps with a decent sized % error on the stat value.

- Which major and prime glyphs do you currently use? Explain your choices
I always choose whatever glyphs are the most dps, and after that whatever aids the most in survivability.
Demo: 3/31/7 spec uses immolate/incinerate/Meta and I use lifetap/soul link/ whatever(healthstone/shadowflame/soul stone..whatever a fight calls for)
0/31/10 uses immolate/meta/corruption..... lifetap/sbolt/soul link
Afflic: UA/corruption/Haunt.....lifetap/soulswap/sbolt
Destro: immolate/imp/conflag.... lifetap/soul link/whatever
I am always willing to change glyphs if it is of benefit to the raid ( ie: glyphed shadowflame as afflic for Madness)

- Do you have dualspec, and is your offspec something you could viably play in raids?
yes and yes
- What spec do you prefer? Are you willing to respec if an emergency arises? Are you willing to respec to the optimal spec for a progression boss?
At the moment I prefer demo on Morchok/Ultrax and Afflic for the rest (except spine)
I am always willing to switch to whatever spec is needed and I will always be the highest output spec for any progression boss that doesn't call for a specific spec to be used.

- How do you feel about sitting out for any given encounter if we do not need you? It will happen.
no problems here
- Are you willing to spend 400+ gold a night in repairs and consumables, stay focused and wipe for 4 hours straight, come back the next day and do it all over again until a new boss dies (even on "farm" content)?
yes, with a smile on my face.
- What is your reason for applying? What makes us more appealing that any one of the thousands of other raiding guilds out there?
This guild is at the level of progression I want to be a part of and your raid times are just right for me.
- Who, if anyone, will vouch for your abilities in WWA?
I do not know of anyone
- Post a screenshot of your UI.(If you are having trouble, use the free image hosting resources of http://imgur.com)
http://onestoplock.imgur.com/all/
The purple Jesus face is telling me meta is off cd so it isn't there all the time lol.
I have a couple auras not shown that tell me when certain buffs are up on myself.
I also have a Razor Naga so a couple bindings are for the side buttons it has.

- Last words: Show us what sets you apart from the rest of the candidates; what makes you better? What can you bring to WWA? What do you want us to know that wasn’t covered? Let us know why WE want YOU. This is your last chance to impress us, be thorough. Do not answer this question with one sentence. Once again, the more complete the answer, the better.
If accepted, WWA would get a player who is always trying to improve his game, always trying to find better ways to go about a problem, always striving to be better than the people above him. Someone you can always count on to be online, on time, and ready with everything needed to get the job done. In the rare cases that I would miss a raid you can always be sure I will have posted before the day of. As much as I enjoy topping meters, I never put my dps before the raids success and I am always correcting any mistakes regardless of someone else noticing them or not.

Why do you have your dot timers in the bottom right corner of your screen, when your dps meters are in the middle left of your screen. When dot timers are way more important to watch compared to dps meters, which are not important to watch at all.

I know a lot of people on both Aegwynn and Arthas. I'll ask around about you.

My main way of watching dots is using the boss frame and my focus frame, as omnicc shows the countdown for each dot. I use the dot timers on the bottom right, which I keep down there because it gets really tall when a bunch of enemies are dotted, when my ui bugs making me unable to see my dots on the boss or when there is 3 or more important targets to keep dots up on. In the last case there is usually a target that needs to die faster so that target would be in my boss frame anyway and the 2nd most important would be focused.

The meter is not farther to the left because my raid frames would be there if I was in a raid. At the moment I use the Blizzard frames and I plan on changing that to something I can scale down so when that happens I will probably be able to push the meter farther out. If it somehow causes me problems during raid (never does) I'll just take it out or make it really small or something of the sort.

Or next time just take a screen shot without your meter showing that way people don't get the idea that you like to tunnel dem meters. Just a tip. Good luck with your app.
